Returning Student Application for Dismissed Students

Who is this application for? This application is for students who attended Queensborough and were academically dismissed from the College.

To apply for readmission, students are required to submit the following:

  • Completed application including a typed essay stating what caused you to leave QCC and what has prepared you now to be successful and complete your degree? 
  • Update all information and make sure to provided your current contact information. We will use the email your provide on the application to inform you of the status of your application.
  • Please make sure to electronically sign the application at the bottom of this page.
  • Submit proof/supporting documentation that shows reasons stated in your essay as to why you were academically dismissed.
  • If you have attended another college while away from QCC you must list all colleges on the application and send official transcripts to the Office of Admissions. We suggest you work with your previous institution to have electronic transcripts sent to admissions@qcc.cuny.edu
  • Fee: The readmit fee is waived for all QCC retuning students.  Students will see a $20 charge on their CUNY First account, but the college will waive this fee by the time the semester begins. 

The Admissions Committee for Dismissed Applicants meets once a month to review applications. Once your application has been reviewed by the committee, you will receive an email with their decision and your next steps within 3-5 business days of the meeting date.
